Well here we are.  It’s September and the first day of Fall has come and gone.  Even though I have no two legged children, this time of year brings me “back to school.”  I don’t have to buy notebooks or other school supplies for anyone but this time of year reminds me of getting back to basics.  I teach 2 classes at the New England School of Communications, which does help me in more ways than one can imagine.  I learn so much from these students.

It is a routine that I count on.

As a business owner myself, I find it very easy to get stuck in the day to day, making sure customers are happy, following up, looking at the tactical and not doing the planning that I need to do, that we all MUST do.

The best thing in the world is that we (Sephone)  have great employees that say to us.

“Hey back up this bus and let’s talk about where we are going and what technology our customers need and how to best serve our market. Where do we want to be in 3-5 years? ”

So we all sit down and talk.  Like face to face talk. We talk about our dreams, what we think works in our market and where we think technology will take us.  We PLAN and it is a process, kind of boring at times but in the end we are all better.  We are better as individuals we are better as a company.

As the Marketing “HEAD” –  I love this.  Helps direct me in content on our website, our ads, our profiles on the various social media platforms we use DAILY.  I realized it had been a bit since I last checked them!  Now I am constructing our new social media map to make sure I know all the places WE are.  Some of these platforms I didn’t set up myself, so having a map of where we are online is vital.

So it has been “Back to School” for us and stay tuned for some great times ahead!
