Going mobile at the American Folk Festival

July 27, 2011

It’s hard to believe that the American Folk Festival is less than a month away. As you may have read yesterday, we just launched an Android app for the Festival; this free digital guide is now available in the Android Market.

But we couldn’t let the Android people have all the fun!

If you use an iPhone or other smartphone, you can get your hands (or fingers) on the latest schedule and performer info with our brand-new mobile-friendly site for the American Folk Festival. The new site looks remarkably similar to the Android app; you can look at the schedule for any stage or performer, and you can also read information about the festival itself or about ways to donate and support the Festival for years to come.

Accessing the new site couldn’t be easier. Just head to the AFF’s site – americanfolkfestival.com – on your phone. If you use an iPhone, we suggest that you add the site to your phone’s home screen for easy access throughout the Festival weekend (August 26-28). It’s really simple to do, and you’ll see a little popup bubble that shows you how when you first visit the site on an iPhone.

As Al mentioned yesterday, we love working with the American Folk Festival each year, and we love to see the great acts they bring to the Bangor waterfront. We hope we’ll see you using the new mobile site on the waterfront in at the end of August, but once you’re done finding the information you need to know, remember to put away your phone and enjoy the wonderful music!
